James P. Devereaux Sr., 87, who worked at Harrison Radiator, now known as Delphi Harrison Thermal Systems, for 48 years, died Wednesday (June 20, 2001) in the Odd Fellow & Rebekah Health Care Facility.

He was born in Hartland and attended a Catholic school here.

He had lived in Cambria for more than 70 years. Prior to that he lived in Lockport, and he was a resident of the health care facility for about four years.

Devereaux started to work as a tinsmith at Harrison Radiator in 1933 and retired in 1981.

He was a member of the United Auto Workers.

Devereaux enjoyed farming on property on Shunpike Road and spending time outdoors.

His wife of 46 years, the former Anna Perry, died in 1986.

Survivors include a son, James Jr. of Lockport, and two grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Kenneth H. Sherrie Funeral Home, 6139 East Ave., Newfane. Burial will be in North East Cambria Union Cemetery, Cambria.
