APPLETON DRIVER BADLY INJURED IN TOWN OF LOCKPORT CRASH

LOCKPORT -- A 20-year-old Appleton man was seriously injured this morning when his vehicle failed to negotiate a curve, struck several trees and came to rest in a Town of Lockport field, the Niagara County Sheriff's Department said.

Tyler M. Finley was extricated with the Jaws of Life apparatus and taken by Mercy Flight to Erie County Medical Center, Buffalo, where he remained in the emergency room late this morning.

Volunteers with the Wrights Corners Fire Company responded to the scene following the accident, which happened shortly before 3:30 a.m. on Purdy Road in the Town of Lockport. Finley was ticketed on charges of imprudent speed and failure to keep right, deputies said.
