Thinking that New York and Ontario businesses are stronger together than they are apart, leaders of the two regions will launch a bi-national business conference next week in Buffalo and Niagara Falls, Ont.

The event is billed as a networking opportunity for cross-border business relationships as well as an opportunity to learn about specific trade and industry topics from expert speakers.

Gov. George Pataki and Ontario Premier Mike Harris will give keynote addresses at the event, which begins Monday at the Sheraton Fallsview Hotel in Niagara Falls, Ont., and continues Tuesday at the Adam's Mark Hotel in downtown Buffalo.

Forums for building partnerships in specific industries will focus on tourism, bio-technology and information technology, while other session discuss the legal, taxation and banking basics of doing business in New York and Ontario.
