ROYAL TREATMENT

Comedian and pianist Dudley Moore says he's delighted to be among those chosen to receive the Commander of the British Empire award from Queen Elizabeth II.

"I am very grateful to receive this award and this recognition of my work," Moore said in a statement. "I shall look forward to meeting the queen so that I can thank her personally."

Officially bestowed by the queen, the list is selected by the government to recognize people for their contributions to their professions and to charity.

Moore, now 66 and suffering from a degenerative brain condition called progressive supranuclear palsy, plans to attend the investiture ceremony in Britain in the fall.
