Joseph Michael Brady, a carpenter, died June 1, 2001, in Flagler Hospital, St. Augustine, Fla., after a lengthy illness. He was 50.

Born in Buffalo, Brady was a graduate of South Park High School and attended Buffalo State College. He later took a course in carpentry at Erie Community College.

Brady worked as a carpenter for 30 years. He moved to St. Augustine in 1994.

He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church.

He enjoyed fishing.

"He was a devoted son and brother to his family, and he'll be missed by all," said his mother, Margaret O'Shei of St. Augustine.

In addition to his mother, survivors include three daughters, Carrie Hoffman of Brooklyn, Shannon Stanton of Buffalo and Joelle Dumphy of Ireland; four brothers, John of San Diego and Robert, Martin and Michael, all of Buffalo; and four sisters, Eileen Doyle of Buffalo and Margaret Kustra, Mary Stalcup and Kathleen Antonio, all of St. Augustine.

Services were held June 4 in Corpus Christi Church, St. Augustine. Burial was in San Lorenzo Cemetery, St. Augustine.
