ANNIE MAE LAURA FORD

Sister Annie Mae Laura Ford, 85, an active churchwoman, died last Monday (June 11, 2001) in Waterfront Health Care Facility after several months of illness.

Born in Laurens, S.C., the former Annie Mae Mills attended school in South Carolina and lived in New York City for two years before coming to Buffalo in 1960.

She was active in Greater Emmanuel Temple Apostolic Church, where she served in the missionary auxiliary, the Sunday school department, the baptismal committee and the consecrated choir.

Her husband, Edgar Ford, died in the mid-1980s.

Surviving are four daughters, Alberta Duncan of Buffalo, and Mary Ruth Gordon, Lois Grace Durham and Joyce Kersey, all of South Carolina; two sons, Larry Brown and Ezell Brown, both of South Carolina; four sisters, Lily Ree Brown, Mildred Hall, Jessie Mae McGowan and Inez Cook, all of South Carolina; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Services were held today in Greater Emmanuel Temple. Burial was in Forest Lawn.
