A prayer service for Virginia M. "Honey" Schober, a retired school crossing guard, will be held at 8 p.m. Friday in Zajac Funeral Home, 319 24th St. A private burial service will be scheduled.
Mrs. Schober, 75, died Monday (Feb. 26, 2001) in Mount St. Mary's Nursing Home.
Born Virginia Infantino in Niagara Falls, she married Anthony Schober in November 1947. He died in 1962. During the 1950s, she was employed by Mecklar Cleaning Services. She also worked for many years at Horseshoe Lounge on Third Street.
She retired as a crossing guard for the Niagara Falls School District in the 1970s.
Survivors include three daughters, Lillian McEvoy and Karen Kovaleski, both of Niagara Falls, and Marlene Menkiena of Sachse, Texas; two sons, Anthony of Plano, Texas, and Paul of Huntsville, Ala.; six sisters, Francie Gambino, Carmela Virturoso, Mary Pasquantino and Sadie Gianinni, all of Las Vegas, Jennie Birmingham of New Port Richey, Fla., and Rosie Colosimo of Brea, Calif.; a brother, John Infantino of Las Vegas; and nine grandchildren.
