Aurora OKs borrowing for water project
The Aurora Town Board Monday night approved borrowing up to $500,000 from its general fund to temporarily cover costs tied to water improvement area 7 until the state reimburses the town later this spring.
The board agreed to borrow the money to cover the water-related expenses until the state drinking water revolving fund money arrives in May.
The $1.2 million project will bring water to 150 developed properties along Cook and Lapham roads and part of East Main Street, east of Route 400. The project also includes upgrades of water lines and water pressure for Glenridge and Castle Hill roads.
Homeowners will pay about $400 per year for the debt and another $260 for the water.
