Jamie Bulka, a sophomore at Niagara Falls High School, died Sunday (Feb. 25, 2001) in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after being stricken at her home. She was 16.
Born in Niagara Falls, she was the daughter of Peggy Bulka and the late John Bulka Sr., who died in 1997.
Jamie, according to her family, was a happy teenager who enjoyed shopping, chatting on the telephone and driving her car. She had planned to attend the Board of Cooperative Educational Services program at Niagara County Community College in the fall.
During the past year, she had worked part-time after school as a clerk at Old Greenwalls Restaurant, 9105 Cayuga Drive.
In addition to her mother, Jamie is survived by her stepfather, Gary Cook; a brother, Johnny; her maternal grandparents, Cecil and Mary Litten of Niagara Falls; and her paternal grandmother, Patricia Casico of Connecticut.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Lane Funeral Home, 8622 Buffalo Ave. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston.
