A memorial service for Jean May Lowe, a lifelong Elma resident who enjoyed gardening and was active in her church, will be held at 3 p.m. today in St. John's Lutheran Church, 2131 Woodard Road, Elma.
The former Jean May Stitz died in her home Friday (Feb. 23, 2001) after a long illness. She was 74.
Born and educated in Elma, she was known for her rose gardening and was a longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, John L.; two daughters, Mary M. Griffiths and Amy A. D'Andrea, both of Elma; six grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Elma.
