I recently became interested in the position of drawing assistant/regional marketing spokesperson for the New York State lottery. There have been notices in The News and job applications are available where lottery tickets are sold.
Interviews were held in Albany, Syracuse, Rochester and New York City. I sent a letter to the lottery office in Schenectady asking if there would be interviews scheduled in Buffalo, but I did not receive a reply. I then called the lottery office in Syracuse and asked the same question. I was told that no interviews would be held here. Since Buffalo is one of the largest cities in the state, I am perplexed why interviews were not scheduled here.
Could the underlying message possibly be that Buffalo does not have a sizable enough pool of talent for this position? I hope not!
