Leo C. Lane, 89, a longtime Rochester Telephone Co. supervisor, died Monday (Feb. 19, 2001) in his home here after a lengthy illness.
A native of Rochester, Lane worked for Rochester Telephone for 43 years, much of that time as supervisor of the Warsaw District.
He was a past member and for many years an assistant secretary of the Warsaw Kiwanis Club and coached the club's Little League baseball team. He also was a longtime member of the Rochester Telephone Pioneers.
Lane was a parishioner of St. Michael's Catholic Church here and volunteered in several capacities.
His first wife, Ethel, died in 1985.
Surviving are his second wife, Edith; a daughter, Sue Butera of Niagara Falls; a stepdaughter, Margaret Gardner of Warsaw; four stepsons, Lee and Roy Gardner, both of Warsaw, Neil Gardner of Perry and Alan Gardner of Bliss; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Michael's Church, North Main Street. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
