Joseph C. Stahlman, 87, who worked in construction on the New York Power Project and for Chisholm-Ryder Co., died Tuesday (Feb. 20, 2001) in Schoellkopf Health Center.
He was born in Howell, Pa., and moved to Niagara Falls in 1932.
Stahlman worked in construction with Wright & Kramer Construction Co. on the Power Project and later worked for Chisholm-Ryder. He then retired to become a self-employed recycler.
He was a fan of wrestling.
His wife, Velma McCollough Stahlman, died in 2000.
Survivors include four daughters, Margaret Fortune and Marcia Gilbo, both of Niagara Falls, JoAnn Neumann of Jefferson, Ohio, and Irene Fraser-Young of Everett, Wash.; a brother, Al of North Tonawanda; a sister, Evelyn Barber of Niagara Falls; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Rhoney Funeral Home, 1124 Ontario Ave. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston.
