Charlie Comerford passed another milestone as Timon/St. Jude finished the Msgr. Martin Association regular season with an undefated record, beating Canisius on Tuesday night, 71-59.

Comerford had 21 points, giving him 1,666 in his career and moving him among the top five scorers in league history. He trails Eric Eberz of St. Joe's (1,927), Damone James of Turner/Carroll (1,855), Jerome Griffin of St. Mary's/Deaf (1,823) and Aaron Curry of Dougherty/Newmann (1,720).

Corey Herring led the Tigers (23-1, 11-0) with 25 points and 10 rebounds. Fran Snyder and Joe Mihalics added 11 each. The Crusaders got 21 points from Joe Zera.

Elsewhere in the MMA, David Sanok had 12 points while Scott Greene and Brian Nash added 10 each as St. Francis avenged an earlier-season loss to St. Joe's, winning 61-49. Kevin Pope led the Marauders with 17 points. In their first meeting Jan. 30, the Marauders won, 47-46.

Ed Turner had 32 points and 11 rebounds and William Murray added 22 as Turner/Carroll beat O'Hara, 110-84. Loren Stokes chipped in with 21 points, 11 steals and 10 rebounds.

NFCAA: Eric Dier had 27 points as the Baptist School beat Central Baptist, 69-47.

Girls basketball

Class A-1 prequarterfinal: Allison Depp had 19 points as No. 8 seed Lockport began defense of its Class A title with a 47-30 win over visiting Frontier.

Chrissy Baum had 19 points and 10 rebounds and Kirsten Moskal added 14 points for Williamsville North in a 63-56 win over Niagara Falls, Cheryl Kindzia chipped in with 11 points and nine assists for the Spartans. The Wolverines' Chonita Palmer netted 30 points to finish her career with 1,462.

Katie Ahearn (career-high 13 points), Lauren Mruk (13 points, 12 rebounds) and Lisa Jaszka (12 rebounds) led Lancaster to a 57-41 win over Orchard Park. Tessa Paolini handed out nine assists for the No. 6 seeded Redskins.

Class A-2 prequarterfinals: Melanie Besecker had 18 points and 12 rebounds as Niagara-Wheatfield downed West Seneca East, 59-50.

Class B-1 prequarterfinal: Grand Island, looking to regroup after dropping two of its last three in the regular season, held on to beat Lewiston-Porter, 43-41. Lew-Port trailed by 16 in the fourth quarter before charging back, led by Haley Mercer, who scored 11 of her 16 in the final eight minutes. The No. 4-seeded Vikings were led by Katie Remus with 14 points and Sally Head with 10. . . . Jamie Glover had 17 points, 12 rebounds and eight steals as No. 7 seed Seneca beat No. 10 seed Grover Cleveland, 63-44. . . . Cheri White had 12 points and Karlyn Zielen added 10 as Tonawanda held Albion to two points in the first half on its way to a 44-17 win. . . . Dana Montazzoli had 12 points and 13 rebounds and Ashley Powley added 12 points with 11 rebounds as Starpoint beat Maryvale, 49-24. . . . Gabbie Richardson had 20 points and Beth Walsh 14 as Amherst beat Kensington, 63-25.

Class B-2 prequarterfinals: Michelle Capen had 16 points and Sara DeVoe added 13 as Newfane beat Roy-Hart, 46-35. . . . Rachel Conti had 12 points for Fredonia in a 48-35 win over Medina. . . . Laura Gleason had 14 points for Springville in a 51-34 win over Eden. . . . Jen DePasquale had 16 points as Dunkirk downed Southwestern, 41-30.

Class C-1 prequarterfinals: Danielle Poodry had 21 points, 10 rebounds and six blocks as Akron beat Allegany-Limestone, 54-50. Brandi Bossinger scored 10 of her 14 points in the second quarter to help the Tigers build a 29-20 lead at the half. Kristen Martin and Heather Martin had 19 each for the Gators. . . . Tracy Garner's three-pointer with 6 seconds left lifted City Honors to a 39-37 victory over Silver Creek. Jameela Sabir led the Centaurs with 14 points. Alyssa Wojda had 14 for the Black Knights. . . . Tanya Teluk (14), Meggan Malik (10) and Leanne Gedraitis (10) were in double figures as Holland beat Buffalo Arts, 55-30. Melanie Pohancsek led the Cavaliers with 14. . . . Amanda Colburn had 18 points and her twin sister Allison added 14 as Falconer beat JFK, 47-40.

Class C-2 prequarterfinals: Kourtney Troutman had 18 points and 10 steals as Pine Valley began defense of its Class C title with a 79-27 win over Cattaraugus/Little Valley. Vanessa Bradigan added 18 points for the Panthers. . . . Jenny Morrison had 26 points, including four three-pointers, as Westfield beat Barker, 49-35. . . . Jacey Brooks had 33 points and 10 rebounds as Franklinville beat Cleveland Hill, 56-32. . . . Liz Derx had nine points to lead Portville to a 41-26 win over Panama.

Class D: Jessica Colvenback had 11 points and Kelly Newton and Tara Thompson combined for 14 rebounds as Brocton beat Forestville, 42-23. . . . Kim Chappell had 15 points as North Collins downed West Valley, 39-36.

NFCAA: Liz Ciarnowski had 12 points as Amherst Christian beat Victory Christian, 44-35.

Non-league: Rachel Michalek (27 points), Sally Shuster (15) and Sam Miller (14 rebounds) helped co-No. 2 small school Sacred Heart down No. 5 Nichols, 64-59. Tiffany Walton had 24 for the Big Green.

Msgr. Martin Association: Jill Scrivano had 27 points as Niagara Catholic beat St. Mary's of Lancaster, 56-50. Mary Helak had 17 points for St. Mary's, giving her 1,014 in her career. Kathy Over led the Lancers with 24.
