Betty J. Ocasio, a retired Metro Bus driver, died Monday (Feb. 19, 2001) in Millard Fillmore Hospital after a brief illness. She was 59.
A Buffalo native, the former Betty J. Cain attended Buffalo public schools.
She was employed as a Metro Bus driver for 18 years, retiring in October. She had resided in Cheektowaga for the last two years.
Mrs. Ocasio enjoyed cooking, gardening and collecting depictions of angels.
Survivors include her husband, Rafael Sr.; a daughter, Valerie LoCurto of Buffalo; a son, Fred Stern of Dunkirk; three sisters, Phyllis Chrosniak of the Town of Tonawanda, Earla Shred of Buffalo and Dolly Cain of Rochester; a brother, Ora Cain Jr. of Buffalo; and 10 grandchildren.
Services were held today in Amigone Funeral Home. Burial was in Forest Lawn.
