The JFK Raiders defeated Lancaster, 24-6, in the finals of the Winterfest Touch Football tournament at Delaware Park on Sunday.

Derrick Floyd and John Augustine were named most valuable players on offense. Mike Faulks and Guy LaPenna were defensive MVPs.

Christine Fina of the Niagara Walkers Club won the senior women's 3,000-meter racewalk Sunday at the Ontario Provincial Indoor Junior-Senior Track & Field Championships.

Fina, a Lancaster native in her freshman year at Buffalo State, won in 15:48.08 at York University in North York, Ont.

Five youth teams from the Buffalo Premier Futbol Club advanced to the semifinals at the Cleveland Invitational Tournament against some of the best teams in Ohio. Coaches were Brian Cribbs (Under 11), Tim Foster (Under 12), Kevin O'Neill (Under 13), Tom Garigen (Under 14, Andrew Crawford (Under 16) and Ernie Buriano (Under 17). The Under 17 team scored a major victory with a 4-1 triumph over the Cleveland Internationals, the defending National Indoor Champions.

SOFTBALL: D'Youville College has rescheduled its batting clinic to Saturday, March 10, 9 a.m. to noon at the College Center Gymnasium, Porter and Fargo Aves. The clinic is open to girls 6-18 and will feature hitting for power and placement, bunting and slapping. The staff will include members of the D'Youville women's softball team and coach Ellie Hanover. Cost is $30 for preregistration or $35 at the door. Call 881-7789 for additional information and registration forms. . . . Geneseo State will hold its annual softball clinic Sunday at the college. It will feature head coach Joe French and assistants Tony Ciccarello, Dubby Herman and Chris George and cover hitting, pitching fielding and an indoor game. The 8-12 year-old session will be 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., the 12-18 session from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. Cost is $35 in advance or $40 at the door. Make checks payable to SUNY Geneseo Softball.
