James P. Farrell, a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and a member of Post 735, American Legion, in West Seneca, died Feb. 10, 2001, of a heart attack and stroke in Palmetto Baptist Medical Center, Easley, S.C. He was 63.
Born and raised in Buffalo, Farrell retired from Conrail after 34 years as a railroad yardmaster.
He was a member of St. Matthias Lutheran Church in Easley.
He is survived by his wife, the former Judith Schuler of Easley; a son, Joshua James Vincent of Easley; five daughters, Kelly Moran of Buffalo, Kimberly Andrews, Jennifer Letourneau and Amy Alessi, all of Cheektowaga, and Kyle Smith of Powdersville, S.C.; a sister, Colleen Ladori of West Seneca; seven grandsons; and a great-grandson.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3512 Clinton St., West Seneca.
