To my fellow WNY golfers, believe it or not, it's only three to three and a half months away from chasing that little white ball, whether it be left, right or straight down the fairway on your favorite golf course.
I want to take the time now to recognize the greenskeeper and grounds crew at the county golf course, Grover Cleveland. Jim Hart and Jim Bailey along with their staff should be commended for their diligence, commitment and pride in producing a good looking and decent playing golf course, even with its drainage problems in certain areas.
The conditions of both the greens and fairways are always in acceptable shape considering they maintain a course that sees a tremendous amount of play from sunrise to sunset by golfers who do not always replace their divots or repair their ball marks.
