Tracy O'Grady, the young South Buffalo native who was the United States entrant in the prestigious Bocuse d'Or cooking competition in Lyon, France last month, is going to cook on the "Today" show Tuesday (Channel 2, 7-10 a.m.). She'll prepare the Fennel Tarte Tatin she cooked in the contest.

Although the show is live, O'Grady said on the telephone the other day that "it won't faze me after France." No wonder. For the competition there the young chef, who is based at Kinkead's restaurant Washington D.C., had to prepare a meal for 12 people in 5 1/2 hours.

The French contestant won the Bocuse d'Or and O'Grady finished in the middle but, she says, the interest in America has been enormous.

"You would think that coming in 10th place (out of 21) people would leave me alone," she says, "but the response has been unbelievable."
