Seymour Berkoff, 66, of Williamsville, a retired drugstore owner, died Wednesday (Feb. 14, 2001) in Buffalo General Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Buffalo, he had a pharmacy degree from the University of Buffalo.
For 40 years, Berkoff owned various drugstores throughout the Buffalo area, the most recent being the Wimbledon and Val drugstores, both in West Seneca. He retired in 1998.
He and his son Michael also ran several men's athletic apparel stores for 10 years in Williamsville.
An accomplished runner, he participated in several area marathons, and every year he ran in the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day with family and friends.
Besides his son Michael, he is survived by his wife, Wendy; two daughters, Jamie of Chicago and Laura Vayness of Ridgefield, Conn.; another son, Joshua of Buffalo; his mother, Rose of Buffalo; a sister, Shirley Odin of Boynton Beach, Fla. ; a brother, Dr. Herbert of Sacramento, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
Services were held today in the Chapel at Forest Lawn.
