Donald F. Bohall, 68, an organ builder who started his own pipe organ maintenance and repair company, died last Friday (Feb. 9, 2001) in his East Amherst home.

Born in Oswego, he attended Oswego schools. A music lover and a craftsman, he worked for many years as a pipe organ builder for Schlicker Organ Co. in the Town of Tonawanda.

Leaving the company in the late 1980s, he founded Heritage Pipe Organs, a North Tonawanda company that renovated and serviced pipe organs in churches throughout Western New York. His firm recently completed renovation of the organ in St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church, Hamburg.

He maintained homes in Oswego and East Amherst and had a summer home on the St. Lawrence River.

He was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Oswego.

Surviving is a close friend, Marlene Shannon of Oswego.

Services will be private.
