Genevieve L. Logel, 85, of Lady Lake, Fla., died last Wednesday (Feb. 7, 2001) in Leesburg (Fla.) Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
Born Genevieve Schmidt in Buffalo, she graduated from Fosdick-Masten High School. She married Frank J. Logel Sr. in 1937. She was a homemaker and held part-time retail positions.
The Logels moved to Florida when her husband retired in 1976. He died in 1977.
Mrs. Logel was active with the Order of the Eastern Star, Orchard Park PTA, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Motor Boat Club of Buffalo and the Inner Harbor Yacht Club.
She enjoyed flower arranging and had fashioned altar arrangements for Lady Lake United Methodist Church. She was a member of the church for the past five years. She also made floral arrangements for family and friends on many occasions.
Mrs. Logel played the organ and performed at many church functions and at parties held in the complex where she lived.
She is survived by two daughters, Audrey M. Duvall of Grapevine, Texas, and Sharon A. Privateer of Amherst; a son, Frank J. Jr. of Fruitland Park, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Friday in Lady Lake United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Forest Lawn.
