SMALL DIP IN GAS BILL IS NOTHING TO CHEER ABOUT

I had to chuckle when I read The News headline regarding our National Fuel Gas bills taking a whopping 24 percent dip in February. What's so great about that? In November, my gas bill increased by 25 percent over last November. In December, it increased 45 percent over last December's bill. And my January bill increased an incredible 94 percent over last January's gas bill.

What is even more amazing is that I used the same amount of gas in December and January and I was charged $60 more for my January gas. So, understandably, I'm not too excited when I read about a 24 percent decrease by National Fuel. I'm still waiting for the headline that reads, "National Fuel rates to dip 94 percent." We're all getting tired of this monopoly depleting our savings accounts.
