LOCAL AGENCIES GET FUNDS TO PROVIDE FOOD, SHELTER

The local board of directors of the Federal Emergency Management Agency recently announced the award of $162,216 to help the following agencies provide emergency food and shelter programs: Independent Church of God in Christ, Family YMCA, Salvation Army-Niagara Falls, Catholic Charities, Catholic Worker, Community Missions, Salvation Army-Lockport, Family and Children's Service, Rural Opportunities, Salvation Army-Tonawandas, Niagara Community Action Program, and Heart and Soul.

Also, YWCA of the Tonawandas, American Red Cross-Niagara Falls, St. John's Food Pantry, Newfane Community Food Pantry, COPIN House, YWCA of Niagara, Word of Life Ministries, Niagara Community Center Association, Faith United Methodist Community Food Pantry, North Tonawanda Inter-Church Food Pantry, Native American Community Services, St. Joseph's Outreach Program and St. Peter's Episcopal Church Food Pantry.

The agency's local board of directors consists of representatives of voluntary organizations and local government.
