Leonel Lienlaf, a Mapuche poet, writer and singer, will present "The World Could Not Be Written" at noon Monday in 540 Clemens Hall, UB North Campus. The event is part of the university's Wednesday at 4 Plus series, that will also feature a 4 p.m. reading by authors Michael Gizzi and Gillian McCain in the Center for the Arts Screening Room.

Borders Books and Music, 2015 Walden Ave., Cheektowaga, will present Aliza Sherman, author of "Cybergrrl @ Work: Tips and Inspiration for the Professional You," at noon Thursday.

Mick Cochrane, author of "Sport," will sign his book at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Barnes and Noble, 1565 Niagara Falls Blvd., Amherst.

Wilson Greatbatch will sign copies of his book, "The Making of the Pacemaker: Celebrating a Lifesaving Invention," from 2 to 4 p.m. next Sunday in Media Play, 6743 Transit Road, Williamsville.
