Frank N. "Chick" Guzzetta, 77, of Amherst, died Saturday (Feb. 10, 2001) in Millard Fillmore Hospital after a short illness.
Born in Buffalo, Guzzetta was a graduate of Grover Cleveland High School.
A World War II Army veteran, he rose to the rank of corporal, serving in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater.
After the war, Guzzetta went to work for Trans-American Freight Lines as a truck driver. He retired in 1979. He was a member of Local 375 of the Teamsters and the union's Retirees Club.
A regular walker, Guzzetta was was a familiar figure in Delaware Park. He also enjoyed bowling.
His wife, the former Madeline Maria, died in 1987.
Guzzetta is survived by three daughters, Annette Mang of the Town of Tonawanda, Patricia Sauers of Elma and Maria of Williamsville; a son, Frank of Hamburg; a brother, Charles of Amherst; and nine grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Annunciation Catholic Church, Lafayette Avenue and Grant Street. Prayers will be said at 8:45 in Amigone Funeral Home, 1132 Delaware Ave. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
