Charles C. Kysor, 71, a past president of the Cattaraugus County Bar Association, died Thursday (Feb. 8, 2001) in his Gowanda home.
Kysor was a co-founder of Cattaraugus Abstract Corp. of Little Valley and, in 1958, of the Kysor Della Posta law firm, where he worked until a few months ago.
Born in Buffalo, he was a graduate of Gowanda High School, where he was a sportswriter for the school newspaper. His enthusiasm for journalism led him to Syracuse University, where he went on to receive a law degree in 1952.
His first position was as an associate with the Buffalo law firm now known as Aaron, Dautch, Sternberg & Lawson. Kysor was a member of the Real Property Section of the New York Bar Association and of the American Bar Association.
He was a past master and senior grand warden of Phoenix Lodge 262, F&AM, of Gowanda and a member of Great Valley Lodge 1178, F&AM, and Gowanda Lodge 1382, Loyal Order of Moose.
Surviving are his wife, Stefanena Dimitruck Kysor; two sons, Stacy L. Amodio of North Collins and Benjamin C. of Gowanda; a sister, Elizabeth Peglowski of Gowanda; his mother, Sarah Courson Kysor of Gowanda; and two grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Schindler Funeral Home, 44 Center St., Gowanda.
