An intoxicated 20-year-old man accused of yelling and using abusive language in the Buffalo Marriott lobby early today was accused later of scuffling with police and kicking out a wall in Amherst Police Headquarters.
Police were called to the Marriott on Millersport Highway at about 5 a.m. to investigate a complaint of an unwanted guest. When they arrived, police found an intoxicated man standing outside, with a nearly empty whisky bottle in his hand.
The man was accused of struggling with officers and later causing about $300 damage to a holding-cell wall at Police Headquarters.
Officer Michael Daley charged Francisco Diaz Jr., 20, of Buena Park, Calif., with criminal trespassing, resisting arrest, attempted assault and criminal mischief.
