I would like to address the Jan. 28 letter, "Inaugural invocation ignored our diversity." I appreciate the writer's concern regarding the presidential inauguration prayer, which included a reference to Jesus Christ.
I invite the writer to enter into my manner of thinking, which I believe is a reflection of the Rev. Franklin Graham's genuine good will. When I offer a prayer in Jesus' name on behalf of our country, the intention of that prayer includes it benefiting nonbelievers as well as fellow believers. This perceived "exclusiveness" is not synonymous with disrespect for other's belief.
