Services for Oscar K. Paris will be held at noon Wednesday in Mount Olive Baptist Church, 701 E. Delavan Ave. Burial will be in Forest Lawn.
Paris, 33, of Buffalo, died Wednesday (Jan. 31, 2001) in Erie County Medical Center after being shot during a basketball game.
He attended Buffalo Public Schools and graduated from Seneca Vocational High School. He worked at the Erie County Medical Center laundry department for several years.
Paris loved basketball and received many trophies for tournaments he played in throughout the community. In more recent years, he enjoyed playing the game with his son, Keith Jr.
Friends and family described Paris as a kind person who was liked by anyone who came to know him.
Survivors include three sons, Keith Jr., Anthony and Ke-von, all of Buffalo; his mother, Jeanette Barber of Buffalo; his father, Oscar Lee Paris Jr. of Dallas; a sister, Nikki Singletary of Lansing, S.C.; two brothers, Jermaine and William Barber, both of Buffalo; his maternal grandparents, Rebecca and Johnny Lee Brown of Buffalo; and his paternal grandmother, Lorna Smith of Buffalo.
