'SUCCESSFUL AGING' IS COURSE TOPIC

JAMESTOWN -- The newly formed Saging Center of Jamestown Community College is offering a noncredit course titled "Successful Aging" from 1 to 3 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, Feb. 19 to March 2.

Participants will learn how successful aging is a function of health, fitness, social connectedness, lifelong education and spirituality.

The center is a clearinghouse and resource program for elders whose wisdom and skills can be used throughout the community, according to Jamestown Community College.

Workshop for drivers set at JCC

JAMESTOWN --Two sessions of a six-hour workshop that gives drivers a way to reduce the number of violation points on their licenses and lower insurance premiums will be offered in February at Jamestown Community College.

One session will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 13 and 14. The second will be held from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Feb. 24. Tuition is $35.

Boys and Girls Club plans fund-raiser

The Boys and Girls Club of Elma, Marilla and Wales will hold a fund-raiser from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. March 10 in the Marilla Fire Hall on Two Rod Road. The fund-raiser includes silent, Chinese and live auctions. Featured will be Wilson Curry of Williston Auctions.

Preschool story time booked in Elma

Elma Public Library will offer a preschool story time for children ages 3 1/2 to 5 1/2 at 6:30 p.m. Mondays or at 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays through March 13. Registration is required either in person at the library or by phone.

Marilla Kiwanis will meet Feb. 22

The Marilla Kiwanis Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 22 in Cape May Restaurant, Clinton Street, Marilla. A representative of the Marilla Fire Company will present a program on thermal imaging cameras.
