Ronald E. Berner, 61, died Saturday (Feb. 3, 2001) in his home after a six-month illness, during which he received Hospice care.
Berner was a Niagara Falls native and attended local schools.
He worked at the Union Carbide Republic plant from 1972 to 1979.
Berner was an active volunteer with Boy Scout Troop 841 at St. John de LaSalle Catholic Church.
He was a member of Post 414, American Legion, in Angelica.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a former member of the LaSalle Sportsmen's Club. He had a cabin in Allegany County.
He also enjoyed watching hockey and stock car racing.
Survivors include his wife, the former Donna Solomon; a son, Norman of Niagara Falls; three daughters, Noelle Markel, Christy Ann Grabka and Amanda, all of Niagara Falls; and four grandchil-dren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Lane Funeral Home, 8622 Buffalo Ave. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston.
