Robert J. Brown, 69, a U.S. Army veteran and longtime employee of Buffalo Brake Beam in Lackawanna, died Saturday (Jan. 27, 2001) in Millard Fillmore Hospital after a brief illness.
Brown, who was born in Ensley, Ala., graduated from Holy Family High School and joined the Army. After his honorable discharge, he was hired at Buffalo Brake Beam, where he worked until his retirement.
He also worked as a salesman.
Brown was active in Bennett Walls Post, American Legion.
His wife of 34 years, Myrtle Hawkins Brown, died less than a month ago.
He is survived by a daughter, Robin Lynette of Buffalo; two sons, Samuel and Robert N., both of Buffalo; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services were held today in Walls Memorial AME Zion Church. Burial was in Forest Lawn.
