Michaline L. "Lucy" Olejniczak, a former cook, delicatessen owner and grocery store owner, died Wednesday (Sept. 27, 2000) in Niagara Geriatrics after a lengthy illness. She was 97.
She was born Michaline Lorka in Buffalo. She moved to Niagara Falls in 1927 after marrying her second husband, John H. He died in 1968. Her first husband, Leon Koskicki, died in 1922.
She worked at Mazda Lamp Co. in Buffalo in her early years. She then worked for Louie's Restaurant as chief cook and later was a cafeteria worker for the Niagara Falls Board of Education for seven years.
She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
Mrs. Olejniczak is survived by a son, John E. of Oil City, Pa.; a daughter, Eleonore Stipp; a sister, Bernice Jasinski of Buffalo; a brother, Edward Popaduch of North Tonawanda; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Saturday in Prince of Peace Church, 1065 Military Road, after prayers at 10:30 in Lane Funeral Home, 8622 Buffalo Ave. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston.
