Kenneth L. Bangert, 85, a retired career Army officer and postal worker, died Tuesday (Sept. 26, 2000) in Veterans Affairs Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Bangert was born in Buffalo and was educated in Buffalo schools. He served in the Army during World War II and received the Purple Heart.
After leaving the service, he returned to Buffalo and worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier.
Bangert enjoyed reading and traveling. He was a member of Central Park Presbyterian Church and supported many local charities.
A graveside service was held today in Forest Lawn.
