Richard S. Elias, 57, who worked as a welder here and in New Orleans, died unexpectedly Tuesday (Sept. 26, 2000) after being stricken at home. He was declared dead on arrival at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.
He was born in Niagara Falls and was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School.
Elias served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
He worked as a welder for Union Carbide Corp. for eight years in the 1970s and moved to New Orleans in 1978.
Elias moved back to Niagara Falls in 1993.
Survivors include a sister, Paula Stocker.
Services will be held at 8:30 p.m. Friday in M.J. Colucci & Son Funeral Chapel, 468 19th St. Burial will be scheduled.
