POLICE SEEK IDENTITY OF WOMAN KILLED BY CAR

Buffalo police Tuesday were seeking clues to the identity of an elderly woman who was killed by a vehicle while trying to cross Broadway near Miller Avenue.

"We need help to figure out who she is," said Officer Luciano Perez of the Accident Investigation Unit.

Perez said the accident occurred at about 7 p.m.

The victim, who was described as an elderly white woman with grayish hair, was not carrying identification, Perez said.

"She probably lives in the area near where the accident happened. We need to get a positive identification," he added.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Buffalo Police Department Accident Investigation Unit at 851-4537.

Perez said charges are not expected to be filed against the 89-year-old driver of the vehicle that struck the woman.
