Joseph D. Dolce, 92, of North Tonawanda, a retired aeronautical engineer, died Monday (Sept. 25, 2000) in Weinberg Campus, Getzville, after a brief illness.
Born in Buffalo, he worked as a draftsman and engineer at Curtiss-Wright Aircraft Corp. during World War II, then went to Bell Aerosystems in Wheatfield, where he worked on the engine for the Agena Project. He retired in 1972.
He was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church. He enjoyed horse racing and gardening.
Surviving are his wife of 67 years, the former Josephine Valvo, also a resident of Weinberg Campus, and two daughters, Jean D. Doctor and Katherine M., both of North Tonawanda.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Friday in St. Andrew's Church, 1525 Sheridan Drive, Town of Tonawanda, after prayers at 8:45 in Amigone Funeral Home, 2600 Sheridan Drive, Town of Tonawanda. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.
