Tyson Pedacchio won a playoff to take medalist honors at the 12th annual St. Bonaventure Leo Keenan Invitational at Bartlett Country Club in Olean Monday.
Pedacchio, a junior at St. Bonaventure, carded a 4-over-par 144 to tie Robert Morris senior Jeff Castleton. Pedacchio won the playoff with a par on the first hole.
American University won team honors in the 18-team, 36-hole event. The Bonnies took fourth place, Niagara tied for 10th and Canisius finished 18th.
Among the five players who tied for third place (145) in individual honors were Bona's Matt Pochily and Niagara's John Heffernan. Patrick O'Hara of Niagara tied for 15th with a 149.
TENNIS: Freshman Fery Kasiman took fourth place in Flight A singles competition for the University at Buffalo at the Brown Invitational. Kasiman advanced to the semifinal round, then dropped his next two matches. Senior Budi Susanto advanced to the finals of the Flight A consolation bracket. Junior Justin Brtko (Williamsville East) won the Flight B bracket while junior Tim Powell advanced to the quarterfinals of Flight C.
FOOTBALL: University at Buffalo outside linebacker Duane Williams earned Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors after he set a school record with four sacks in the Bulls' win over Bowling Green last Saturday.
