PUBLIC WANTS TO HEAR THIRD-PARTY CANDIDATES

Voters who are not aligned with the two major parties seem, according to the media, to deserve no media coverage. If we get any, it is generally grossly distorted.

Case in point, the Aug. 6 editorial titled "The death of the party" (Reform Party) and the Aug. 24 editorial in which The News' stand is that what the public really wants to hear in the presidential debates is more from George Bush and Al Gore -- don't mess around having Pat Buchanan or Ralph Nader making waves. Give me a break!
