LEO DI PASTENA, OPERATED BARBERSHOP

A Mass of Christian Burial for Leo Di Pastena, who operated Leo's Barber Shop in his Walnut Street home for 50 years, was offered today in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 391 Market St. Burial was in Cold Spring Cemetery.

He died Thursday (Sept. 21, 2000) in his home after a long illness. He was 80.

Di Pastena's death occurred three days after that of his wife of 56 years, Lena Licata Di Pastena.

He was born in Italy. He opened the barbershop in 1942 and closed it in 1992, when he became too ill to work.

He was well known for keeping beautiful rosebushes.

Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Ward of North Carolina, Antonette Hughes and Linda Heal; a sister, Alverena Tirimco of Italy; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
