Katherine L. Jeffery, 84, who ran a popular candy business in her home for many years, died Saturday (Sept. 23, 2000) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a brief illness.
Born Katherine Lang in Detroit, she moved to Buffalo as a young woman and graduated from Bryant & Stratton Business Institute. She had lived here for the past 23 years.
Mrs. Jeffery operated a business called Kay's Candies in her home.
She also enjoyed needlepoint, quilting, reading and activities at her church, Cambria United Church of Christ, where she was a member of the women's fellowship.
She was also a former treasurer of the Cambria Historical Society and a member of the School 23 Group in Buffalo.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Arthur; a son, Lawrence of Anaheim, Calif.; a daughter, Linda Neureuter of Lockport; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Cambria United Church of Christ, 4045 Lower Mountain Road. Burial will be in Acacia Park Cemetery, Pendleton.
