Agnes L. Weidinger, 80, of North Main Street died Saturday (Sept. 23, 2000) in Olean General Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born in Bedford, N.D., and graduated from Machias High School in 1936.
The former Agnes Boehmer married George Weidinger in 1951. He died in 1960.
She was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for 35 years, serving 15 of those years as postmaster at Machias. She retired in 1981.
Mrs. Weidinger was a member of Machias United Methodist Church, where she held various positions and offices. She was a member of the National Association of Postal Workers and the Auxiliary of Post 1460, American Legion.
Surviving are two sons, Franklin L. Green of Phoenix, and Charles of Delevan; two daughters, Marilyn E. Law of Phoenix and Carol A. Ballard of Newfane; two brothers, Norman Boehmer of Arcade and Chuck Boehmer; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in United Methodist Church of Machias, Route 16.
