Entrepreneurs interested in starting a new business in Chautauqua, Cattaraugus or Allegany counties in 2001 can be part of a business plan competition.
To be eligible, entrepreneurs must have a completed business plan ready by December, must project ultimately employing at least 10 people and must be ready to make an equity investment in the new business.
The Small Business Development Center at Jamestown Community College and the Southern Tier West Regional Planning and Development Board will provide winners with ongoing assistance. Besides help from a team of mentors, small loans will be granted to winners by the Southern Tier Economic Development Organization, a non-profit lender to small business.
