Final score: 89-1.
It seems we have that ever-elusive consensus. Well, at least among the folks who attended the recent Canal Conversation.
After the speakers were done, the audience broke off into separate discussion groups. One was on what to do with the Commercial Slip, the historic western terminus of the Erie Canal that's buried in the Inner Harbor.
The state wants to leave it buried and dig a replica slip next to it. Others want -- as suggested in the county's interim report -- to excavate and rewater the real slip.
The estimated 90 folks in the discussion group voted. Only one raised a hand for the replica.
No word yet on which state agency the lone dissenter works for.
