A memorial service for Helen Bielby Dorman, 93, an accomplished pianist who was active in musical groups in Buffalo and in the Orchard Park Symphony, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Orchard Park Presbyterian Church, 4369 S. Buffalo St., after an interment service at 11 a.m. in Forest Lawn.

Mrs. Dorman, a native of Buffalo and a resident of Orchard Park since the 1950s, died Wednesday (Sept. 20, 2000) in Autumn View Manor after a short illness.

She was a graduate of Buffalo Seminary and Wellesley College. She was active in a number of organizations, including Caring Friends of Orchard Park Presbyterian Church, an antique study group, the Audubon Society and the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Mrs. Dorman was known for her love of animals and as an animal rights activist. She was a bird watcher and conservationist and belonged to several bridge clubs.

Her husband, George, died in 1977. Her interment will be beside her husband.
