Edward P. Bolas, 77, a carpenter who also owned and operated Bolas Flooring in Batavia for many years, died Thursday (Sept. 21, 2000) at his home.
He died of heart failure, his family said.
Bolas served on the Pembroke Town Republican Committee for 23 years and had also been on the Pembroke Planning Board. He served as assistant fire chief at the Corfu Volunteer Fire Department.
Bolas belonged to Local 280 of the Carpenters Union since 1954.
He was past president of the Holy Name Society and also served on the cemetery committee for St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Corfu.
Survivors include three sons, James of Pittsburg, Thomas of Cleveland and Daniel of Washington, D.C.; a brother, Clarence of Batavia; a sister, Francis Koneiszko of Florida; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Francis Church, West Main Street. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery.
