Adam Gaynor cherished his guitar so much that he wouldn't even let fellow Matchbox Twenty band mates touch it.
Now a thief has gotten his hands on it -- snatching it during a concert.
The band is offering a reward -- no questions asked -- for the return of the customized Taylor acoustic-electric guitar valued at more than $3,300. It's translucent green with brass hardware and a smooth cutaway design.
"It was the most beautiful instrument I've played, ever. It was perfect," Gaynor, 36, said.
The guitar was one of several Gaynor played during the group's performance earlier this week at the O'Connell Center in Gainesville.
When the instrument was no longer needed, Gaynor's assistant packed it inside its case alongside the rest of the band's gear in a loading area offstage. Gaynor noticed the guitar was missing after the concert.
