Return to the days of the early 16th century and the reign of King Henry VIII this weekend on the campus of St. Bonaventure University. A wide meadow behind the school's former seminary, Francis Hall, will be the site for its Renaissance Faire, where Edward, Duke of Bonable, will be awaiting revelers to share in the excitement of the marriage of his son William, the marquis of Bonable, to Lady Oleana of Kent. Besides the royal wedding, attendees will watch as townsfolk try to solve the mystery of the missing wedding gift. The 300th anniversary of the landing of Italian friars in England will also be commemorated.
Entertainment will be provided on three stages and throughout the Faire. There will also be period crafts and games, plenty of authentic food and an ale tent.
