Theatre of Youth is recruiting ushers for its 9 a.m. Tuesday through Friday performances. The season starts Friday with "Swiss Family Robinson." TOY is located at the Allendale Theatre, 203 Allen St. For information, call Mary Barone at 884-4400, Ext. 305.

The Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural Site, 641 Delaware Ave., will hold its annual fall orientation for prospective volunteers from 9:30 a.m. to noon Oct. 2 and Oct. 4. It includes a guided house tour, an overview of the site's history, Theodore Roosevelt's life and presidency as well as a discussion of volunteer opportunities.

For those interested in leading tours or conducting children's activities, more detailed training will be offered in October and November. The site is particularly looking for those interested in doing off-site presentations for schools and organizations. Anyone interested in more information is invited to call 884-0095.

The Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center, 50 E. North St., needs volunteers to do clerical work and to assist with patients and students. The Center provides diagnosis and treatment for children and adults with hearing and speech impairments. Call 885-8318, Ext. 248 to learn more.
